Choose Ohio First
Led and funded by the Ohio Department of Higher Education (ODHE), the Choose Ohio First Scholarship Program is part of Ohio's strategic effort to bolster the state in the global marketplace of Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Medicine (STEMM). Choose Ohio First awards competitive scholarship funding to Ohio's colleges and universities to support undergraduate and qualifying graduate students in innovative academic programs.
Designated Choose Ohio First programs are:
- Integrated with regional economies
- Meeting statewide educational needs
- Facilitating the completion of baccalaureate degrees in cost effective manners
- Recruiting underrepresented STEMM student groups including women and students of color
Ohio's economic future relies on a well-trained and economically competitive workforce. Maintaining scientific and technological leadership in United States is essential not only to Ohio's economic growth, but also to our national security and a productive future for the country. STEMM disciplines will help create the talent needed to make Ohio's businesses competitive in the 21st century knowledge economy.

- Computer Science (Columbus)
- Innovators for a New STEMM Workforce (Columbus)
- Innovators for a New STEMM Workforce BSET (Lima, Mansfield, and Marion)
