The Office of Undergraduate Education’s Young Scholars Program at The Ohio State University is excited to announce the call for proposals for our upcoming YSP Lead Well, Be Well Sophomore Conference, taking place November 21st on the Columbus main campus.
Please note: This is a volunteer opportunity. Presenters will be contributing their time and expertise to support the development of young scholars and will not receive financial compensation.
This dynamic conference is designed to empower rising high school sophomores to strengthen their leadership skills while cultivating a culture of holistic wellness in their schools and communities. We invite educators, counselors, students, and professionals passionate about youth development to submit proposals for workshops, seminars, and activities that promote the following themes:
- Leadership Development: Workshops focusing on leadership styles, communication skills, team building, goal setting, and problem-solving.
- Mental Health and Well-being: Sessions addressing stress management, coping strategies, mindfulness practices, self-care techniques, and building resilience.
- Physical Wellness: Activities promoting physical fitness, healthy eating habits, sleep hygiene, and overall wellness practices.
- Social-Emotional Learning: Workshops exploring empathy, conflict resolution, emotional intelligence, building positive relationships, and fostering inclusivity.
When submitting proposal, please consider/ have the following information prepared:
- Proposal Format: Please submit a detailed proposal outlining the session content, objectives, and interactive components (if any). Proposals should be no more than 500 words.
- Presenter Information: Include a brief bio and contact information for all presenters involved in the proposed session.
- Session Length: Sessions are scheduled to last 55 minutes.
- Session Details: Concurrent sessions will be held from 10:30 a.m. – 11:15 a.m. and 11:25 a.m. – 12:10 p.m. on Friday, November 21 .
- Audience: Sessions should be designed for high school sophomore students.
- Innovation: We encourage innovative and interactive session formats that engage participants actively.
Deadline: Proposals must be submitted by Friday, October 10 at 5 p.m.
Submission Process: Please visit the link https://go.osu.edu/yspleadwell2025 to submit your proposal. Proposals will undergo a review process by the conference organizing committee. Accepted presenters will be notified via email by Friday, October 17.
